Katrina Relief Team
It's been almost six years since Hurricane Katrina unleashed devastation on the Gulf coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida (August 2005). Yet, the recovery work is projected to continue in the Louisiana Gulf Coast area for many more years to come. Thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed and thousands of people were left homeless.
For the second year in a row, we are sending a team to the Katrina disaster area in New Orleans to partner with TouchGlobal EFCA (Evangelical Free Churches of America, our denomination). The team will be in New Orleans from May 19-26 to partner with EFCA churches in the rebuilding efforts but will also have the opportunity to minister to people's spiritual and physical needs as they arise. To get a better idea of the nature of the ministry opportunities, see last year's team blog.
